SECTORAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Dengue

In our continuous effort to control the effects posed by dengue, a mosquito-borne viral infection, we have conducted indoor residual spray to over 36 schools (elementary, secondary and tertiary) across the city and soaked 9,196 curtains and nets. As a result, we have 46% decrease in dengue cases in the 2 first quarters of 2020 compared to last year.

PCSO Donated PTV

Last August 4, 2020, one of the Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) was given by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to the City Government of Digos. Due to the effective leadership of Mayor Josef F. Cagas, Digos City was recognized as one of the very few recipients of the said PTV out of the thousand LGUs in the country

35 Hours Maintain Search and Rescue Operation

Three (3) members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force 99-2018 Troopers namely Patrolman Kim Bryan Delos Reyes De Guia, Patrolman Franklin S. Teodosio and Patrolman Michael B. Villa, who were on test mission in ther Commando Course, fell to almost 200-meter ravine into a river at Sitio Bareren, Brgy. Goma, Digos City. The 35-hour mountain search and rescue operation was successfully managed and coordinated with the Rescue Team from CM Outdoor search and Rescue Group, CDRRMO Personnel, KABALIKAT, Digos Active Mountaineers Inc. and ART 911 Aplaya. To refognize their valiant efforts and dedication, an awarding ceremony has been conducted last June 1, 2020 at the City Gymnasium.

Oplan Patagam

Setting discipline as leverage, the Digos City Police Station established Oplan Patagam as an intensification of the mandates set forth by Executive Order No. 31 "An Order Imposing Guidelines on General Community Quarantine in the City of Digos due to COVID-10". Violators like improper and failure of wearing of face mask and inobservance of social distancing are kept in custody of the City Police Office under baton of PLT COL Vici Anthony T. Tababa.

Rekorida

As part of the information drive of the PNP Digos, a rekorida is being conducted throughout Digos to inform it's citizens about the recent policies and rules of the City Government regarding COVID-19

Psycho Social Program

Eco-brick Exchange Program

The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) join pact with local households to assert an all-out war against waste by promoting Eco-brick Exchange Program 2020. It is a campaign to promote and lessen garbage in the city by making eco-brick bottle in exchange for rice.

Pest Management

Local farmers from Barangay Igpit innovated their fields as they integrate pest management which teaches them the proper use of resources, extend yield and diminished the potential of weed resistance.

Coastal Clean-Up

To rehabilitate coastal areas and wetlands within the city, a continuous coastal clean-up drives are initiated as a campaign to promote an eco-friendly city.

Hydro-phonics Farming

A greenhouse producing lettuce powered by hydrophonics technology that uses water as substitute for soil came to realization in fresh vegetable farm in Kapatagan, Digos City.

Sanitation Uniforms

Ensuring the safety of the garbage collectors, the City Government of Digos presented and turned over its sanitation uniforms. A set of uniform consist of personal protective equipment and hygiene kit. Around 174 garbage collectors of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) will be protected in their day ti day collection of the waste of Digoseño households.
